Updates

James got his 2 month immunizations today (2 in each leg) and weighed in at a whopping 15 lbs 5 oz ... more than a pound heavier than Joshua at this age!!

Joshua was awake 4 times during the night, wanting to cuddle with his Mommy. We figured he was coming down with something because he was very clingy and cuddly yesterday (thanks for holding his all through church, Myn). It was a VERY exhausting night, up with Joshua 4 times and James twice. My wonderful husband got up early for work and fed James for his 6am feeding, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU honey! I desperately needed the sleep!!

James has always been a very gaseous little boy (:P) but today he won't stop crying and his belly is so hard ... I don't know what to do ... we never had this problem with Joshua. He is spitting up everything I try to feed him and is just crying and crying ... help! (The doctor just called me back and suggested Ovol but even that is not working.) :(

Any suggestions?!?

Glad to hear that James is doing well! Rylan just was weighed and he's a whopping 18 pounds at 3 months! Anyways...about the gas :P ....have you tried gripe water? I also have held him on his belly resting on my arm. I always burp Rylan twice in a feeding too! Looking for some pics...haven't seen him since he was newborn!

Ben had super bad gas when i took iron supplements and again when he ate bananas the first time. someone told me gripe water, which i didn't try...but my mom swore by. I did the bicycle thing with ben...him on his back and rolling his knees into his tummy and pressing a little. i've read that they need extra burping from the bottles as they suck in extra air. hope you get some sleep! ;)

Thanks for your ideas!

It seems that Gripe water is not strong enough for the little guy, so we had to move on to Ovol. The bottles are Playtex nursers which minimize air (they have soft liners that contract with the milk so the baby does not have to break suction and allow air back into the bottle). And we now burp the boy every 3 minutes when he's eating ... it takes longer to feed him but he does seem to be doing better!! He actually slept 7.5 hours straight last night (well, he cried twice but was back asleep before I got to him). It's not the 9-12 hours Joshua was sleeping by this age but I'll definitely take it!!

Thanks for all your prayers! It made me realize that I use this blog to complain a lot so from now on it's going to be mainly happy stuff. :P

Wow - James really is a big boy. Owen was 14 lbs at 2 months old.

Owen was super gassy too. We tried gripe water and did the bicycle thing. He just refused to burp though, and therefore always had the hard belly. He just grew out of it one day. So I don't really have any good advice for you. Sorry.
